Thank you for remembering our family in your prayers. In both the hard times and the times of celebration, our prayers to God for our family remain the same - that we may continue to grow in the grace, peace, joy, and love of Jesus Christ, our Lord & Savior. And, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, our family will courageously express in every way the hope of the Gospel and goodness of God. Together, we seek first God’s Kingdom and His glory (for our enjoyment of Him).

Beth and I find each season of life to be full and we are doing our best to keep from being “busy” (this may be on eof the biggest challenges in any stage of life). Now 19 years into married life, we continue to discover new ways to grow in our love for one another and our three children as we celebrate life together in Christ. Mike continues to enjoy his good work as the Executive Director of Kingdom Dads. Beth continues to enjoy her good work as a preschool teacher at BUMP. Lucy had a bit more of a tough start to the year. She was in and out of Children’s Hospital for several months in efforts to diagnose bodily pain. After laparoscopic surgery, we are thankful to have received a clear diagnosis. As of this winter, we finally have a good medical and care plan in place! While Lucy still has hard mornings every now and again, she has been able to return to “life as normal” for the most part; thank you for your prayers! Peter had another growth spurt and has now surpassed all of us in height (his is just a little taller than Mike)! Peter continues to excel academically (as do his brother and sister), and he continues to enjoying putting his creative imagination to work with the help of Lego. Joseph does well keeping up with his older siblings and is probably the most outgoing and assertive leader of all three. Joseph continues to have aspirations to be an astronaut, though he is beginning to have second thoughts about traveling to Mars due to how long he would be away from family.

Some big moments of this past year included:

  • Last Spring Joseph completed 5th grade marking the end of our days at Montrose Elementary School.

  • This past summer, our family enjoyed a week at Gull Lake Ministries for their family camp and a family vacation in Washington, D.C.

  • In August, Lucy, Beth & I rode in Pelotonia. Beth & I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary with a bike ride through Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

  • This Fall Lucy got her driver’s license, Joseph’s soccer team won the Championship game of their league, and Peter exhibited his Lego creations at a Lego convention!

  • This Fall we were able to visit Beth’s alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan University!

  • This winter we had our car stolen from right in front of our house!
